ABOUT
Driven by vision and inspired by beauty, Emily Brereton’s work reflects both innovation and style.
A Toronto-based makeup and hair artist with an artistic eye and the ability to turn concepts into reality, Emily finds beauty and inspiration everywhere. She keeps up to date with the latest trends, tools, and styles.
As a child, Emily enjoyed experimenting with her mother's makeup, and would help her get ready for special events, but she never thought that having a career in the beauty industry would be a possibility. Instead, she enrolled in the Criminology program at Wilfrid Laurier University, and while at school she rediscovered her love for makeup and hairstyling. Upon graduation from University, she enrolled in the Makeup for Media and Creative Arts program at Sheridan College to begin her career as a makeup and hair artist.
As an artist, she feels as though it is important to continually refresh her ideas and is constantly inspired by the diverse people she meets. Emily's creative mind and her appreciation of the inextricable link between high fashion, makeup, and hairstyling led to her interest specifically in the editorial field. This branch of the industry allows her to create a wide range of looks, from natural to avant-garde, that all have a common goal: telling a client's story.
Emily advocates for and supports diversity and inclusivity, and believes that there is a space for people of all genders, cultures, and backgrounds in the beauty industry. She believes that makeup and hair play a critical role in enhancing the theme of a look and that through an artist's fearless expression, the definition of beauty can be expanded to speak to people from all walks of life. Emily has a passion for self-expression and values the ability to connect with people from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures through the appreciation of beauty.
